Toggenburgs

This year, we are excited to announce the addition of Toggenburg goats to our farm! These charming dairy goats are renowned for their excellent milk production and friendly disposition, making them a perfect fit for our growing farm family. Originally from Switzerland, Toggenburgs are one of the oldest known dairy goat breeds, famous for their distinctive appearance characterized by their chocolate brown coats with white markings. Toggenburgs are notable for their high milk production. They typically yield more milk than many other goat breeds, and their milk is rich and creamy, ideal for cheese making and other dairy products. Furthermore, the introduction of these goats aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainable farming practices. By incorporating Toggenburgs, we aim to enhance biodiversity on our farm, contribute to soil quality through natural grazing, and produce high-quality dairy products with minimal environmental impact.

In the world of goat farming, innovation and strategic planning are essential for success. As we embark on our journey to breed our Toggenburg goats with one of our Nigerian Dwarf bucks, the vision is to create a new breed of mini Toggenburgs, affectionately referred to as "mini toggs." This breed aims to preserve the desirable traits of the Toggenburg while introducing the compact size of the Nigerian Dwarf, making them an ideal choice for both hobbyists and small-scale farmers. Stay tuned to watch our progress!
